01 Development Background

As automotive E/E architectures evolve rapidly, multi-function domain controllers (ADAS, body, smart cockpit, infotainment, etc.) are becoming the mainstream solution. Compared with traditional distributed ECUs, domain controllers must integrate far more signal and power circuits into a single connector, placing higher demands on current-carrying capacity, position density, and board footprint.

In response to this trend, BJD has launched a new generation of compact hybrid standard wire-to-board connector platform. Based on a gangable structural design, the platform uses standard single-cavity modules that can be combined in two-, three-, four-, or five-piece gangs to flexibly cover different position counts and current ratings — shortening development cycles and reducing tooling and validation costs.

02 Product Overview

P2.0-2 SERIES offers single-cavity base modules of 12P/23P/28P/29P, combined in two ganging ways: 52P = 23P + 29P and 73P = 35P + 38P, meeting the high-density, multi-circuit hybrid signal and power connection requirements of domain controller applications.

  Standard single-cavity base modules can be ganged in different ways to expand the position count, combining flexible configuration with the advantages of scaled production.
• Hybrid interface with wide current coverage
  A single connector accommodates both 3A signal and 50A power circuits; multiple terminal series meet the mixed needs of domain controllers transmitting low-voltage signals alongside power/high-current circuits.
• Dual termination process compatibility
  Supports both PIP (Pin-in-Paste) and wave soldering processes across multiple specifications, using high-temperature plastic that withstands 260°C peak reflow — excellent process adaptability.
• Mechanical keying
  Keyed coding with multi-color position differentiation prevents assembly or electrical accidents caused by mismating, improving line assembly efficiency and reliability.
• Proven reliability
  Complies with USCAR-2 and LV214 automotive test standards; vibration grade reaches USCAR-2 V1, meeting automotive-grade reliability requirements (aligned with mainstream Tier1/OEM validation processes under the IATF system).
• Easy assembly
  Simple and convenient assembly process helps reduce line labor and defect rates.
